Meetings of the SORP-making body

Following on from the SORP Governance Review, commissioned by the SORP-making body in 2018, the SORP-making body has made changes to its own governance arrangements. In place of a practise of ad hoc informal discussions, from March 2019 onwards the SORP-making body now convenes formal meetings.

The purpose of the SORP-making body’s meetings is to:

  • Agree a vision for the development of the SORP
  • Agree and keep under review the governance arrangements for the development of the SORP
  • Agree the engagement and consultation processes to inform the development of the SORP
  • Agree the role of the advisory SORP Committee and make arrangements for appointments to that Committee
  • Settle the agenda and timing of the advisory SORP-Committee meetings
  • Identify any papers or documents that need to be written to inform the development of the SORP
  • Approve the work-plan for updating and developing the SORP
  • Oversee the Secretariat arrangements and contract

Publication of actions and papers of the SORP-making body:

The action points from each meeting will be published. Decisions of, and papers prepared by, the SORP-making body are normally tabled for discussion at the SORP Committee. Committee agenda and papers and the pronouncements by the SORP-making body are published on the SORP Committee page.
